BFE: Bum F**k Everywhere

So it indeed is "where" and "what" would also apply.

In Colorado right now, but have worked, lived about everywhere.

Anybody know about the quality of Autolite glow plugs. Put some in my baby this summer. Started great for 6 weeks or so. Now not so good. Haven't really had the time to troubleshoot, but I'm thinking maybe these plugs could've gone bad already.

If I recall correctly, Autolite are Ford parts. I think the OE spark plugs I used to buy for my Fords were Autolite.

If this is the case, stay away from them.. I'd assume a Bosch part is much better for your car than a Ford one. Their spark plugs were the same way..

The lesson I've learned with MB diesels is to use ONLY Bosch spark plugs. I have tried Beru and Monark and the performance has been nowhere close to the Bosch. I thought I was having all kinds of other problems with my cars until I changed to Bosch and all of the issues went away...

I know I'm pretty new to all this -- but in the 2 months I've had my car, I can tell you one thing. I WILL NOT buy any other than Bosch GPs! And if you can get them for $7.99 like the BFE guy did... get EXTRAs!!!

My Pennies.

Well, looks like i will be heading to autozone, get some bosch plugs, cut my hands up replacing them, and reporting back.

Why on earth would a local parts store sell me the autolite plugs? Cause they fit?

LMK how many you want and I'll ship to you, parcel post or first class would be less than $5, save yourself $10 and no big deal to me. Tax here in Colorado is cheaper too.

Come to think of it, might be a good idea to just order them from Autozone on the web for the $7.99? No, forget that, you'll get the old style for sure, I had to pick through the box to find the tapered ones.
