I have an 83 300TDT with a non-working heater system, and a 77 240d doner car. Is it possible within reason to replace the non-working climate control system with the complete system from the 240d? Can the dash be easily removed for access? Could the sum of the swap be more work than say, three times repairing the vacume control? Thanks in advance.

The end result would be btter than you can believe. I have a '77 with the Euro controls and love as opposed to all my other MBZs with the 300DT controls.

You'd have to pull the dash to install it and then discard a few things under the hood such as the aux water pump, etc.

Unfortunately, the car would be down for at least a couple of days. All the 280TEs came with the Euro controls, so there is an alternative of finding a defunct 280TE and swapping engines. Might actually be easier and less electrical problems if you don't mange to connect everything up correctly.

I'm convert a 280CE to diesel and it is a Euro with good a/c and a 5 speed manual. v
