Redline 85

My SDL was nailing real bad over the past couple of days and she had a rough idle.I hadn't used Redline for a few hundred miles and there was noneto be found in my area Discount etc...I didn't look too hard as I didn't think about it until the nailing got worse.

Finally found some Redline 85.I put a whole bottle into a little less than a half a tank of diesel( I will fill up in the morning) and the noise just about went away in less than 5 miles of driving.

Good stuff. Will order a case so I don't run out again.

Anyone ever hear of the 85?

Redline makes two diesel additives 85+ and Diesel Catalyst. They are both the same expect Diesel Catalyst contains a smoke inhibitor. It’s aimed and the older high mileage diesel engine.

Power Service makes a competing product you can get at Wall Mart. Redline seems better at quieting the engine while Power Service gives you a centane booster that shows up in added mpg’s

A whole bottle in a half tank seemed a little excessive but alright.... I bought my gallon of DFC from www.autoil.com seemed like a pretty decent deal. I heard of the 85 but normally use DFC just because it supposedly helps with smoke as well as the long list of other stuff it does.

Cetane and mileage isn't a direct relation, cetane is the spontaninty of the combustion occuring. Perhaps PS creates a mileage boost but it isn't because of cetane.
