dawes boost conroller ???

Hi,

I have my dawes boost controller, and have used my mityvac to set it to hold a max of about 10.5 psi (as per the 'official' chart posted in the archives, which shows about 725-750 mbar as the max spec pressure). This will be an improvement over the typical 8-9psi that I am currently getting. I am not looking for much sped improvement, my car goes pretty well, I just want to achieve that boost profile as per the manual, so I am at ful boost around 2k RPM, right when I need it for climbing an onramp that I typically drive on.

Anyway, before I go and cut the one and only wastegate hose that I have on the car, Id liek to know if the ID of said wastegate hose is the correct size to directly plumb the controller into.

The barbed ends on the controller look awfully small, and if some adapter is required, how did you set it up?

Any info would be really great.
Thanks,

JMH

P.S. The factory boost setting pic, from an older thread can be seen here:

Anyone? I know a lot of these have been installed, I just need to know if they were installed using JUST the wastegate hose, or if some sort of adapter and smaller ID hose was needed. Id love to know this before cutting my wastegate hose in half.

Thanks,

JMH

You will need some various size barb adapters. The wastegate hose has too large an I.D. for the Dawes.

I slipped a very short piece of fuel hose (from my assortment of sizes, due to repeatedly buying wrong ones from time to time) over the Dawes barb, then sqeezing the waste gate hose over that, then securing with a small German hose clamp. Not elegant, but successful.
