Question New Kid On The Block!

hi to all! I'm a new kid on the block, not only to this forum, but also to the Mercedes-Benz Diesel world. I need advise as to what needs to be done to my new baby. She was a gift from Dad and is in immaculate conditions. I am a car freak, and I love to keep my cars in tip top shape. The only problem she has right now is that the sunroof motor seeps to be slipping when either opening or closing. I usually have to help it by pushing the sunroof open or close. What should I do???

Welcome to the forum. You'll probably want to clean it up really good and lube the sliding parts. The trick is to use only the Mercedes-Benz lubricant. The dealer will sell something like a 1 pound tub for a ridiculously high price, but smaller quantities are available from other sources. The best thing to do is make use of the "search" function at the top right corner of the page, and search for "sunroof lube."

Welcome aboard! Try the search engine, you will end up with lots of posts to read about almost everything imaginable. Posting questions without the car specifics is tough on us, year make and model are essential.

Your sunroof problem is pretty universal with age. Sounds like your rails need a cleaning and proper application of MB sunroof rail grease(yes, use only this MB product in this case). Here is a link to a company that some things that might interest you.
