300d engine adapters ???

This last weekend I went to check on 3 mercedes I found while cruising the week before. The guy had just sold a 300d with only 80,000 on it, but he said I could have a 300d engine non-turbo with all the goodies(injector pump ect), that was ran dry of engine oil. Whats going to have to happen ? Main bearrings rebuilt ? and total rebuild ? And does anybody know of anybody putting one of these engines into a 4x4 pickup ? what kind of addapters needed ? thanks.

Better be a small truck because that's only 90-95hp. (I've always thought an older Landcruiser with a turbo 617 would be cool) You'd probably have to open it up to see what it needed but at least new bearings.

Better of buying a used, running engine.
Likely gonna not be a cheappy engine fix if ran with no oil.
