Turbo shop in the Bay Area?
I've got some more analysis to do before I decide my Ray-Jay Industries turbocharger's seals are shot, but can anyone reccomend a turbo shop in the Bay Area? Thanks!

I'm not from the Bay Area, nor do I live there, but how about looking for a place that does heavy duty turbo diesel work, like a place that works on bus and truck engines. Maybe they can be of help.

Totally good idea... I've found a place in Hayward that claims to work on Ray-Jay TC's... cool! We'll see what they say. I got the TC off and found oil in both the intake and exhaust sides. I took it all apart, too, for grins. There's no discernable play in the shaft.
When I ran the car under scrutiny, before I removed the TC, oil would begin to drip from the TC-Exhaust pipe union almost immediately. I cleaned the whole area and found no trails... it came right from that joint. Not a very good seal, obviously. Hard to get at those bolts. Anyway. Any other reason, save seals, that I'd have oil in both sides of the TC? Thanks all! Ash

Another place to try would be Coast Fuel Injection in San Jose. They're a diesel repair shop that specializes in turbos (at least according to their info). I haven't had any turbo work done by them, although I may have them overhaul the ATS turbo that's going in my truck...

Slick, thanks for the tip. So how does the stock setup work? My turbo just has 1 oil feed line, and 1 drain line... are there other connections/tuneables on the stock turbo? What's an ALDA?
Calling all insomniacs. So if noone can fix this old RayJay, I'm thinking I might try to pull the guts out of it, seal up the two sides somehow and use it as a through-way for exhaust and intake gasses. I'm just not sure if the intake and exhaust manifolds are stock, and if they're not, I could have a bear of a time reverting back to normal aspiration. The exhaust pipe comes straight up from the underbody, and it's flange faces straight forward (sound stock?).

Turbonetics or Innovative Turbo. Both are in Simi Valley CA (SO CA area.) UPS it down there.
These two places were a referral from my buddy who is the chief mechanical design engineer at Vortech Superchargers in Ventura CA. First cabin repairs.
