Well, I am bringing my 300SD in for its annual state inspection tomorrow and will plan to take it for a road trip down on Saturday...hope to see some of you there.

I suspect the diesels will have a strong turn out. So your W126 will have some company and we can get a nice W126 group shot. OTOH the G would certainly be unique!

The funniest thing is that when I go to meets such as this I've always been the only W126. Only once did I run into an even older car then mine, an original SLC AMG. Usually my car is so old that is has more miles on it then everyone else's combined

We just got home to NH ourselves...nice trip and the SD did great on its first real road trip of 2008. Nice meeting you'all. Next time we should do that diesel drag race (when the cops aren't hovering).

Thanks, I waited a long time to find a nice one like that, but still was lucky to find one and have it be a color combination that I actually don't mind owning. I never thought too much of the blue leather interior but it goes with the silver exterior well.

You really have to appreciate the love that someone had for that car to keep it nearly 30 years and have it look virtually the way it did when it drove out of the showroom. I never met the owner himself, just his son, who seemed more interested in making sure he got paid for it than who landed up with the car...such is life.
