Spring Pad Redux
Reporting back my findings:
Just got back from having the stock "4 bump" spring pads swapped out for "1 bump" pads on my 2000 E430 Sport with Eibach Pro-Kit springs. WOW! Dropped it another full 1/2" Now looks like it is supposed to with those 18" wheels. You can also really tell it is lower when you drive it. Ride is exactly the same as before. Now I have to find someone who can align it. M-B dealer could not get their alignment machine heads to clamp on the wheels. Any ideas out there for alignment?

MikeyE430,
Find a shop with "Hunter" alignment equipment. The local Goodyear auto center here has all Hunter equipment. On both my 400e and 300e I watched them balance the wheels and aligne the car. I highly recommend you watch the tech as he does the alignment. It is pretty cool seeing how the Hunter works. Hope this helps. |
