Yes, the transmission works great. There are still a couple of things to get done but I have converted another of my own cars and have sold 20 or so units to others that have been happy with the results. The best part for me is the power handling of the 722.6 is great and the ability to set all my own shift points is really nice, especially as I make adjustments to the engine and differential and want to change my shift points to better suit those changes.

NEW DYNO

Well finally got to the dyno and dialed in. 398.7whp and 383 whtq. Again the cam advance on made more power up untill around 5,000 rpm. New exhaust is working well as I am making power all the way up through the rpm. This is on e85 at around 15 degrees of timing. More timing made no more hp. Boost is still between 11.5-12.5 psi. No ice in the intercooler, so basically this is street hp. It is around 62-65 degrees today with high humidity.

Excellent numbers! I didn't have a chance to read through, but what computer are you using to run it?

I'm sure you've said it earlier, but which displacement are you running currently? Those are still great numbers from a supercharged I6 at that PSI.

I am running the 3.2l m104. I have the old 1.6l from the autorotor design. I would probably get a 2.3l if I were to do it again. The 1.6 is maxed out right now. I might be able to get a couple more psi out of it but that is it. I know the new ones are supposed to put out more than the old designs though. When I built this setup I looked at the 2.3l dimensions to make sure it would fit in the same area.

Very impressive numbers at that boost level . I'd be happy if I see similar numbers with my setup but at the crank .

Thanks, I am very pleased with the output. I wanted to do some more pulls with the cam adv. off at 3500 rpm to see if I could get more out of it. But I think that with the way the power curve ended up this is probably the best setup. I also wish I had done a pull with the intercooler iced. I know this is probably good for another 20whp at least.
I was thinking that with a turbo that the output would be another 40-50hp just from the parasitic loss of the supercharger.
We will see how long it lasts at this output. I probably will not drive it to much more this winter. There is one more test and tune day at the track that I might make it to. But other than that it is time for it to get parked.

yeah but you wouldnt have instant torque with a turbo either

hp sells cars
torque wins races

yeah but with drag racing, turbos can produce the extra speed/power for less dollars down. Both boosted types have pros & cons. Neither are better than the other if you look at all the variables. SC generally require stronger internals. Turbocharging utilises the exhaust power with extreme efficiency (I know your fully aware of this Dearlove )

I've Been down this argument road a few times now. Some remove the SC & go for a bigger, more efficient turbo. Others prefer the SC's "on all the time" response aspect. Some use the twin-boosted set up utilising potentials of both. Others use nitrous with the turbos for increased low-down response.

Two different ways at getting similar results really I believe it's what is in the "kitty" that determines most choices. Mazda MX5's & Toyota MR2's went with the SC as an option. Some remove the SC & go for a large turbo & by this, get the stronger engine built for the SC that they now can go nuts with.

I personally luv this SC build for it's uniqueness. Awesome! I'd luv to do both. Have 1 car SC'd & the other Turbocharged just for the variety in the garage haha
