OK, I know some of you have done some stereo mods on your 500E/E500s. My PS front door speaker sounds like it's blown @ moderate volume. Bought a speaker & that's not the problem. It still made the same sound. My guess is the amp. Do they have a separate amp for each speaker? I'm looking for imput. If any of you guys have some stock stuff you have pulled out, once we can determine the problem, I am interested in taking it off your hands. Thanks gang,

2 amps, essentially behind the fuel filler tube if you go in thru the trunk....have to pull the liner back.
I'll see if my old amps are still lurking about

I like alpine equipment but it does not look close enough to factory 4 me. I need some advice hear, ANYONE ? at some point I also want to add subwoofer and JL AUDIO amps, I do not want the ricer trunk full of audo equipment though !!!!!!!! :p :p :p

Michael,
Great! Let me know if you find your amps. Is it one per side or one front, one back? J

Yeah its definitely the amp
I had the same thing happening with my 92 400E. When I bought the 93 500E, the guy had swapped out the factory head unit and Amps with upgrades. However he kept all the OEM stuff. So I swapped out the amp in the 400E and the problem was fixed.
Got an OEM Becker head ubit if somebody wants/needs one. "Make me an offer I can't refuse" |
