About part numbers.... don't all you guys have the Mercedes Electronic Parts Catalog, aka the EPC? It's what the dealers use to look up part numbers, an electronic microfiche on two CD-ROM's (installs to your hard drive). They used to be all over eBay (bootleg copies on CD-R) but there are none now (hmmm, that's odd). I couldn't live without it. It has prices too. Most recent "public" version I know of is August 2002, which is what I'm running...

asr defeat

Hey Guys, I tried to defeat my asr yesterday, 1992 500e, went to the best audio shop in town and showed the instructions I took from these posts and Renntech instructions.
The guys pulled out the whole box, found the pins by number but the colors for the wires did not match.
We went ahead and cut the three wires ran speaker wire out from the three and through the firewall.
The car would not start so we connected the speaker wire leads together, still not starting, just cranking.
After reversing everything back and soldering the original wires back together, the car started and everything normal.
Was speaker wire a mistake?
HELP. Marc

I think The whole thing was a mistake taking it to a radio . Shop.
also just cuttting wires. Its not a great idea if you dont have a mercedes etm wirng guide. Luck you didnt burn your $2200.oo ASR C/U

Wait till we have it down pack 1st.
Marc if you want to drive it with SAR off you to see how it feels. You can disconnect a abs wheel speed sensor

Would these instructions of ASR defeat switch mounting work on a 90-300TE to?

It's awful not being able to have fun during the winter!

speed sensor

Mark just 1 sensor will do. The easiest of the 2 is the pas side. Near the control module box.

If you burn out. Pls take some pics. Would like to see

later Guido

Make me an offer

And I can put kits together with instructions - I was thinking something on the order of $200 - I'll supply the switch (already converted from the two I'll need to buy), the proper relay & the plug it fits into, and connected to it will be the wiring harness that goes up to the CAN box (it's 6 bundled wires wrapped in a durable black sheath - in my installation it's virtually invisible as it matches the other cabling undwer the hood).

First 5 folks with $200 get the kits - good luck!

PS: This kit includes only the highest quality parts - if you can make it for less, than you've skimped somewhere

I am game. You can't beat an ASR Defeat for $200!!!

You got any pics of these parts that you can post?

I am going to try to have someone hookup the switch to illuminate also with the console switches, so if I need any extra parts let me know and I will compensate you accordingly.

Do you take paypal?

Doesn't this fall into the "a magician never reveals his/her secrets" category?

I will find out eventually, since I am going to purchase a kit. I am no electrical magician, so even if he showed me the parts I still wouldn't know what to do with them!

How about a photo of the dash/console with the switch(es) installed? I'd like to see how it looks completed!
