Dash removal 129

I need to get the dash out and I have everything pulled and ready to go. The problem is that there are 2 metal brackets on the dash section that hook behind the center console - not just the wood trim of the center console, but the very robust black plastic support structure that holds it all up. It looks like the only way to get the dash out is to first remove that big black structure. Does anyone have advice? Thanks!
