W107 280 SLC Chrome mirror backing

Hi,

Newbie here, just wanted to check if the chrome backing on the mirror is removable? If so, how do I do it and where can I find a replacement?

Mine is slightly tarnished and I want to get it replaced.

Lastly, is this piece made of chrome or plastic?

Thanks for any advice.

Cheers

oh yeah!

i have always thought that a 280slc would be a sweet driving car. is it by any chance a stick?

where you located? if it is in the midwest i would love to come have a look at your car.

i always wonder why folks dont put any info about themselves on their info page. it gives an old timer like me a comfort level.
