'87 SL - Windows/Instruments Don't Work
A visual inspection of the fuses looks ok, but I noted the fuse cover mentions a relay for #5 fuse. Is there a relay that supplies power to all gauges and the windows? If so, where is it?
I had the car in the shop recently for a fuel pump relay replacement. When I got it back the clock didn't work - still doesn't. A couple of weeks later, the instrument panel started going dead intermittently for short durations. Now the panel is completely dead and the windows don't work. Any help is most appreciated. Frank |

Found at least a part of the problem. The #5 fuse looked good, but wasn't.... apparently corroded. Instrument cluster and windows now work - don't think the clock works - even after the fuse was replaced.

The best advice I got when I first bought my car was to remove each and every fuse from the fusebox and replace them with gold/copper fuses (even the previous owner warned me "if anything funny happens, wiggle the fuses". Since then, all problems have been REAL!
