Anyone have suggestions for the best snow tires for an OEM 15-7 wheel on a 300 CE? Preferably something that will let me get my kid to the babysitters house even in a blizzard? (the babysitter is really hot!)

Since I spend a good 5-6 months driving in snow up here in Canada, I always use snow tires, and good ones with significant tread left (forget about the wear marks, IMO).

Nokians are apparently excellent though I have never tried them. Their price tag seems to parallel this reputation however.

I have been using Toyo Observe winter tires for several years now and I really like them. Excellent grip, wear and performance.

They are generally priced around the same as the comparable Michelin tire (X-Ice, etc.).

Luke is right. Blizzak's transformed my RWD Volvo wagon. The only bummer is they handle like they are made of pencil erasers especially above 60 deg F.
Nokians are ok, but I've gotten stuck with Nokian WR's at least once in a 1991 300TE wagon. My wife has Nokian Vaativa's on her Mountaineer, and they seem to be ok for year round use. The 4WD makes it pretty good in snow no matter what. Blizzak's are nice because they give you real traction on packed snow and ice. You can actually go about 35 on glare ice ... and be able to stop amazingly well.

I think mine were the WS-50's.
You don't want the ones that sacrifice snow traction for better handling, unless you plan to run them year-round, which you can do with the Nokian WR's. They're just not the ultimate snow tire like a good Blizzak.
