98ML320 Rear Wiper/Washer

When I press the button to activate the rear wiper washer, the washer sprays a fan of water that is followed by the wiper. (I think I've got this right.) However, the fan of water "starts" at the middle section of the glass and sprays down onto the paint--as the wiper appears to move in conjunction as the washer. It seems to me that either the washer needs some sort of adjustment so that the fan of water "starts" at the point of the wiper's resting position so that it can move across the window (and not down onto the paint); OR... I think I see two holes for the washer fluid to come out of--maybe the other is not working? I'm not sure about the latter, as the spray moves in such a way that would cover all of the glass.

Does anyone have any experience with this? Thanks, guys!!!
