ATF for 722.6 Transmission (ML430)
Drained transmission pan, torque converter and replaced leaking transmission cooling hose (one leaking at the top banjo fitting, replaced both lines) on a 1999 ML430. Drained about 9 litres as best I can measure. Dipstick tool indicated level ok, fluid hot, exact temp unknown, before draining. Owner's manual states capacity is 9.5 liters on the ML430 (7.4 on the ML320). Would anyone blindly refill with 9.5 liters since I've essentially drained the whole system or should I refill with 9 liters and drive & test (I do have the measuring dipstick but no IR thermometer). Thank you.

By running the engine for 5-6 minutes you should be with-in .5QT on the dipstick.
MOST ML's need 8-8.5 qts thru 1999.

ATF for 722.6 Transmission
MB DOC: I am so worried about overfilling this. Please confirm your guidance is 8 to 8.5 QUARTS and not Liters. Thank you VERY VERY much.
