Sure sure, what are friends for if you can't "take the bulbs" out of their 4Slummer?
The price seems too high, you could certainly get H3 bulbs elsewhere, but I would buy name brand rather than no-name made in who-knows-where. I did have a truck blowing the foglamp fuse with a pair of no-name bulbs.
Is the dealer who is attempting to charge 50 bucks, is this only for activation, or for installing the bulbs as well? This is not as easy as it looks, especially on the right (air filter) side. I'm through with fighting these headlights, I just remove the headlights to do these, that way you are sure the power wire isn't getting pinched under the wire bale and you know the bulb base is seated correctly. 50 may be fair for the whole job. If that's only activation, no way. We've done this in our shop for free, no way it should cost anything, although a 5 buck tip to the tech would be a classy move. Should only take 5 minutes to activate, be sure to tell them if you want the green light activated in the instrument cluster, I find it irritating at night.
Lemme know if you have other questions.
baurat88, just exactly what has "fallen" off your 2001 ML?

Hi gilly,
Well i first got my truck in late Feb of 2001. After about a month, the black plastic trim btween the liftgate and the rear window just fell off. The dealer said there wasnt enough glue on it. So now they added a whole bunch of glue and the sucker sticks out much more than the other side.

A couple of months later, the sewing on the steering wheel started to come out. and now there is a big loose gap. Fixed that problem. Took me one week, just to make an appointment.

Next, the airbag light came on. Dealer claims the relay to the driver door bag was bad. That took about 3 weeks to fix. Had a crappy Buick Century rental for 3 weeks. They couldn't pinpoint the problem, even with all that technology.

After they fixed it, they forgot to put back in the insullation on the door so it sounded really clanky and cheap. The next couple of days, the driver door just stopped working. It moves very slow and sticks and seems to be very tight when going up.

In November of last year, the rear panel with the 3rd brake light fell off. Had it fixed and now, it fell off again just 3 days ago.

My rear driver side speaker rattles even having it fixed at the dealer.

Too many to name, My folder for this car history is getting filled with paperwork. Maybe shoulda got an X5. Don't get me wrong, MB i love, I have had 5 benzos in the past, this ML is the first lemon.
