I would like to point out that the stock Yokohama Geolanders that they come equipped with from the factory are terrible offroad. And in the snow. Well, anything other than dry/partially damp surfaces.

With that being said, a nice set of somewhat agressive offroad tires turns it into a whole different beast.
haha, should have pulled the running boards off (It really isn't that hard to do)

Yes tire choice is critical. Next time I get a G i'm going to have a few sets of wheels with specific sets of tires mounted on them.

(Daily runners, winter and off-road)

Yeah, without the running board, it just looks silly.

We have 2 sets of rims/tires. One is the onroad use with nice road tires, the other set is a set of 32" boggers. Perfect for the rubicon!

We have been talking to the people at ORC to see what they can do for us, as we want to run 36" boggers.

Yeah, a bit crazy, especially on a G500, but what the hell.

Problem with good off road tires is they suck on road, and since G's are luxury vehicles you don't want to listen to the hum of super swampers all the time.

These are good tires and they are not to bad on road.

I love when you can here one of those huge 4x4's coming down the road a couple hundred yards away because the tires make so much noise. That would lull me right to sleep on a trip of any length.

haha, the Caravan was best used at hauling large loads which more often than not was accomplished better with the G. It's best use was getting us a large sum of cash when we got our TDI Jetta (Cash for clunkers on a caravan....I don't think anyone would complain )

I detest minivans. Most of the ones I see in N VA are all beat up, windows smeared (probably with sticky crap from the hands of little kids), full of trash, fast food wrappers, etc, and being piloted by women with cell phones pressed against their heads. Typically, the drivers of these vehicles don't seem aware that there are other drivers trying to share the road with them.

You forgot to mention while smoking and drinking coffee

Minivans are designed to go straight and make turns from a stop and not much more.
