ML320 shock replacement OE vs. aftermarket? Tips?
Gang,
Proud owner of a '98 ML320 with 117K miles and am needing to replace the shocks. To the best of my knowledge, it has not been subjected to off-road duty nor will it while in our posession. (much) ![]() The vehicle came with only a fax copy of some of the service performed yet the shocks were never mentioned. I guess my questions are: What is the life cycle of OE fitment? How difficult is the installation of new shocks (based on intermediate wrench turning skills and decent set of tools)? Are the OE units preferred or is there a recommended aftermarket pieces? Torque specs on the new units? Any tips, suggestions, links, or how-to's would be greatly appreciated. Fast Robert
