Front linkage leaking...

Today I noticed a small puddle of transmission fluid in the middle of my garage, the front linkage is leaking... it is connected on the above back of the transmission drain pan.. the boot of the front linkage was damaged.. causing the leak... first I drained the transmission fluid via the allen drain bolt, than removed the 6 torx bolts holding the transmission pan, than removed the gasket, transmission filter,.. I removed the front linkage.. now I have difficulty putting it back on.. the linkage is black color in the inside, it has a orange seal that looks like a boot, outside it hooks up to a white color long shaft like thing with a black boot there as well.... it hooks up with a lever type metal with a hole in it.. the linkage is connected to a cable on the outside.. how to put this front linkage back on??? that is my question... I will buy the magnet tommorrow, I already bought the new filter, gasket, 6 litres of transmission fluid.. so the magnet I just place in the pan? and do I need a special tool to put the linkage back on? or do I have to remove that metal piece that has a hole in it? thanks for your advice... or do I have to remove the entire transmission to fix this little part?

This is not a job for novices.
I would recommend having it towed to a dealer.
The cable should be replaced as the ripped seal is part of the cable, so it needs a new cable.
The cable will need to be adjusted after replacement or problems could result in not being able to turn the key, remove the key, or shift the transmission.
The other side of the cable connects to the brake pedal.
The magnet is usually placed in the rear of the pan, there is a square design in the pan that it sits into very nicely.
