It's a small world after all.

You know when you bump into someone thousands of miles from home or other looney crap?

A cousin of mine in Ohio sent me an email for some reason I read his CC's and saw the name of an old friend in Colorado from years ago that had no connection to my family what-so-ever, I asked how he knew the person and it turned out to be his wifes best friend.

Another time my wife and I were waiting for a charter flight out of Anegada BVI heading home and there was a couple there in some trouble, and they turned out to live only 2 blocks from us so they hitched a ride, plane car to home.

I was walking through a lobby in Bangkok Thailand and ran into a person I personally knew from my home town.

My dad and his wife bumped into our next door neigbors in a parking lot in Orlando Florida. They hadn''t seen each other for about fifteen years. Wild thing is, we lived next to each other in suburban DC. Small world indeed!

On another occasion, my dad's wife bumped into a friend of mine here in the States and his girlfriend at a coffee shop once. The coffee shop is in downtown Rome. They were both on separate trips, but liked the coffee at that cafe. Wild!

Bumped into the former girlfriend of a friend of mine in LAX once, as we were both flying back to the UK. They had broken up two years previously, and she had been last seen heading for Sydney, Australia. She was on her way home to do a masters in the same town I was finishing up my BA. We ended up having a relationship for a couple of months.

Funny thing was, I wasn't supposed to be in LA at all. I volunteered to be bumped from a different long haul that originated in SF, and my replacement connected in LAX.

MedMech,

Great Topic !! I love reading all the different experiences....Here's mine:

About a year ago I was in Doylestown PA for a Wedding. A few friends and I decided to drive in to Philly later that night to checkout the night life. I ran into my Best friends ex girlfriend (who grew up a block away from me). I had not seen her for about 5 years. She is now a flight attendant and was only in philly for the night, as was I.

I also ran into a friend I had not seen for at least ten years while surfing at Cardiff Reef in North County San diego.

Very small world.

A few years ago my brother got a letter. It was from an old friend, now living in N. California(can't remember the city now), from when we lived in L.A. in the 60's. Turns out the brother of a buddy of mine moved there, ran into this guy at a church meeting, and got to talking and just getting aquainted. My friends brother introduced himself, he having the same last name as I do. So this other guy starts with "I used to have a friend in L.A. when I was a kid with that last name. Any relation?" And so it went from there. So he contatcts his brother (my friend), gets my brother's mailing address, ect, ect.
Yeah, small world!
