Has anyone checked this out or am I the last kid on my block to find this fun toy? Here's a satellite image of my house (along with a few others)!

...the PH level in your pool clearly requires attention.

Sorry, no pool (way too much trouble). My house is the one with the separate observatory.

Is that pan-sharpened imagery from Quickbird? With satellites, I use mostly G,R,CIR since its usually less affected by haze and gives more vegetation signatures. But for really high resolution in both spectrum and geometry, nothing beats emulsion photography.
See if you can find Synthetic Aperture Radar (SAR) of you're area. It does some great terrain detail. Using SAR I've found old wagon trails in forest that you cannot see on the ground without a leaf rake. |

I have no idea. Check Keyhole.com for details. I just thought it was amazing that I could visit that website and see these satellite images. I'm easily impressed, though...

Cool, they preprocess the data and serve it to you using their software. They can also import vector maps from a couple of common GIS providers. That out to shake-up the GIS crowd when everybody can get their own data and make maps without having to hire a cadre of specialists.
This will do what 90% of the planet needs from remote sensing information. I'll bet they're using Leica's ADS-40 scanner for the color imagery at those resolutions. That's a great scanner. Excellent registration and fidelity across adjacent flightlines. Jeff and Ted, that's what you were looking at in FL. |

I got this 2000 photo of our compound on the county assessor's webpage.
Looks like the property grid lines are off by ~15'. The bomb craters in the backyard are 250' Douglas fir trees--they're currently hiding my stash of dead Mercedes. |

If you feel strongly about it either way, you should contact your state rep and Congressmen about it and let them know of your concerns. This legislation has strong backing in most every state. |

You know, a pic like that makes you think twice before planting a crop, if you know what I mean...

Didn't know about this either. Mapquest used to have it awhile ago, but don't anymore. I was able to pick out my house (on the Mapquest photo) by the bright red car we owned then, parked out front. Other wise it was hard due to all the trees in my neighborhood.
