Sorry to say it but this case is a perfect microcosm of our culture. Indifference coupled with mandates and applied to something that should have been put to rest long ago, but which has been kept alive due to the convenience of forces which are totally uncarring of the patient. The only thing left alive is a miss-guided dream and a breathing-assisted carcass.

Talk about yer modern American tragedy..........

I suppose a 22 cal to the head would be more merciful instead of dragging it in and out, in and out. Hopefully she goes quickly before some morons get involved again.

Her husband has turned down a 10 million dollar offer to drop the lawsuits, which make the case even more confusing since it rules out greed he either wants her dead or is fulfilling her wishes.

I don't know too much about the nature of her problem but some sat that she is attempting to communicate I seems like the court would at least order a speech pathologist to spend a few months with her so she can speak in someway for her self.

Pulling the feeding tube instead of a good dose of morphine or dilaudid is plain morbid.

People need to concentrate on the FACTS of this matter. Religion and government opinion should not be involved.

Or he turned down the money because by accepting it, it would actually confirm that he's out for the money and doens't have her wishes at heart.

He would be 10 mil richer and walk away without this hassle? Sounds like a clear cut case to me. If I didn't have my wife's interests at heart, I would take the money and wash my hands off the matter. If I did, I'd refuse it.

Lets say he takes the 10 mil and run. Well it confirms that he is out for the money. So??? He'd be 10 mil richer and no hassle and all you will have on him is that he is out for the money. Big deal. For 10 mil, I'll let you insult me any way you want.

My understanding is some medical experts say she has a chance at recovery.

Also, he may be suspected in foul play with her. A good reason for him not wanting her to recover. I dont understand his PASSION for having her die.

If he wants her dead, and even if money is part of his motive, he is gonna get lots of money one way or the other, so why not get the money, and have her dead, taking the money and keeping her alive makes him look guilty.

If she has NO CHANCE for recovery, why make her starve to death, a terrible way to die, why not just a lethal injection???

It cracks me up when the libs SCREAM, she has no chance for recovery, and they also SCREAM (and some university proffesors are SERIOUSLY trying to make this legal) that women should have thirty days, (some claim up to two years) AFTER birth to decide if they want to keep the baby, especially (and to be fair, some claim the ONLY time they can make this choice is..) IF the baby is seriously afflicted with a life crippliing disease.

Then they scream they want to use live embryos and tax money to fund stem cell research cuz it is gonna create all kinds of miracle cures for all kinds of maladies (like the ones they are claiming are incurable, hence its ok to kill the fetus or living born babies??)

The fact of the matter is that her cerebral cortex is full of spinal fluid. She is incapable of experiencing or thinking anything, nor will she ever recover.

If you cannot recover in 15 years, I think it is time to call it a day.

Why not just give her leathal injection? Works for me. Make it quick and painless. You'd get no arguement from me here.

I don't follow. Where are they killing fetuses or living born babies for the stem cells? AFAIK, they are from abortions and not from a woman who is getting pregnant for the purposes of harvesting stem cells.
