I just heard on the news that ABC news reporter Peter Jennings has died of cancer at age 67.

67 is middle age by today's standards. Except for the cancer.. he seemed to be in good shape. Saw a clip of an interview where he was on Larry King Live a couple of years ago, and he looked great.

I thought he was pretty good. Sure got a bum rap from the Limbaugh/FOX News crowd.

I don't remember a time when Peter Jennings wasn't on the news.

My mom used to have a magnet on the fridge which read "smoking cures cancer." This really went fast. He had a good life.

My memories of when I first started enjoying the news go back to the Huntley Brinkley Report. Stern looking Chet Huntley and calm laid back David Brinkley. Good night Chet. Good night David. Followed by the music of Beethoven's 9th symphony 2nd movement. Well I guess it's now Good night Peter.
