man we were so coffee crazed we volunteered for KP so we could heist some coffee. They never let comm guys do KP but we did find a fall guy who wanted to call home

I love coffee, especially that Jamaican stuff when it's done well.

I used to read the Tom Clancy stuff and remember he always made referece to the Navy guys making the strongest coffee.

I used to pound the stuff, cuban, american etc...but I never slept well and always had the jitters when I slept, or so says my wife. Now I just have 2 cups a day and never after 5 PM.

yep. If you get the oppurtunity try a cup of "chief's" coffee. Nothing comparable except maybe in the middle east.

Good it was coffee that's all we care about. I just told Mrs. Medmech about this remembrance and she had a good laugh as well.

Not to gloat but I think its the best coffee story ever, my buddy was made famous in the movie Blackhawk Down for his Cup-A-Joe antics that was his style.........by far one of the most influential people in my life.

I luv my coffee or cappucino every morning, but I don't drink it on speaking days. I get too jittery then.

I don't get out much... but on my yearly two nighter fishing trip with the whole gang... its all about the beer really... but the first two hours of the day coffee is god. (extended into and given special dispensation through the day based on the intensity and coldness of the rain.)

Oh hey, I was laughing cause it sounded true and real. I can imagine an officer who liked good coffee taking pity on some guys drinking flavored battery acid like that.

Jeez, I've been in some little roadside diners where I seriously wondered how they could make coffee that uninspiring.

Don't tell anyone, but they've got a two store chain (some chain, huh?) of coffee shops here in B-town (the Roma Cafe) that has some of the best house coffee I've had. Espresso is a PITA much of the time -- too expensive and too slow. The normal drip kind these guys have is way rich and exotic. Dah - yum, it's good.

Yep, I can't drink anything bitter.... same goes for beer. Only "girly" drinks for me

Then again I don't think I've had a caffeine in over 4 years... after two weeks of being a lazy tired bum (6-7 sodas a day) it turned out pretty nice. Its easy to wake up and easy to fall asleep, but I do need at least 5 hours of sleep or its hard to stay awake!

My Dad on the otherhand spent some time in the Marines working 2nd shift.... he drinks about a pot a day

Love the stuff, drink it all day long. No sugar, a little milk. Best brew available is a large mug of cappucino with loads of cream on top at Starbucks....

....Mmmm delicious.
