Why do people in the US care soooooooo much about Gay people? They love to watch them on TV, and they care if they can wed or not, etc. What's the deal with that? Why the hell would I care if John and Joe want to and get married? Yet we don't care about the fact that we are spending Billions and Billions on a fake war that isn't even on our soil, yet is killing our people?

Curious?

I kind of like Will & Grace, but more for the humor, than the characters sexual preference.

Remember that we came from the Puritans, and now the country is being run by a bunch of "born agains" who use the gay marriage topic to stir everyone up. Every one talks about it because the Republican right has made it an issue. I think most Americans are against gay marriage because they are homophobes, but on the other hand when it comes to trends, it seems that gay subjects in the media are chic, like Will & Grace and Queer Eye.

Now the war. If we are for freedom from despots, and against weapons of mass destruction, then why didn't we go into North Korea first? Why don't we go to Nigeria and some of the other corrupt dictatorships in Africa. Why didn't we invade Darfor with the same vengeance that we went into Iraq with? Because none of these contries leaders threatened Bush the First, and they don't have any oil.

I must say that despite being dead against our foreign policies, and that I am embarassed to admit that I am an American when I travel in Europe, that the elections in Iraq have seemed to bring some hope to the people of Iraq, and that maybe there is a future of democracy in Iraq, which can not be all bad. Do I agree with the means that we attained this goal - absolutely not! Bush has put our long term stability in the world in jeopardy because of the cost of this war and reconstruction, besides that he stepped on Iraq's sovereignty with his unilateral war. Iraq has become a meeting place for every desperate Moslem that thinks the best action is to blow themselves up to become a martyr.

Maybe if went to the mideast with a bit of humility and asked how we could help out, rather than invading independant countries and blindly backing Israel, no matter what they want to do, we could get a little popular support from the people of the mideast rather than their hate. The suicide bombers act out of desparation because they see no hope. Maybe if we showed them that we are there to help, rather than to invade, things would be different.

I find the whole mess useless and find homosexuality as sick and the most despicable thing on the planet. That's why I don't even pay any attention to it. What kills me is that it is now ALMOST considered kinda cool to be gay or have gay friends and shows like Queer Eye For the Straight guy. I saw that show once and almost puked. If I had a bunch of ******s trying to dress me up, I'd be getting my flame thrower ready.
GO AHEAD- CALL ME A "HOMOPHOBE!" I find "packing fudge" disgusting!

Gayness in America is an inherently funny issue because so many people don't know how to respond to it. That is why Seinfeld's line, "Not that there is anything wrong with that," is one of the great lines in history of TV.

i have no problem with gay people.. except that are just 3 snips short of womanhood or so flaming you can feel the heat when you walk buy

a friend of mine. who has a 89 turbo supra does all his work and sometimes gives me a hand on my cars and with the rest of us and our cars is pretty cool he drift races pretty good at it knows his way around a car.... is .. umm .. gay.. yea i found that out 6 months ago and i still cant belive it... hes still my friend its just like. wow

Simple; a lot of gays work in the movie & entertainment industry.

Their lifestyle is being crammed down our throats every time we turn on the T.V. or watch a movie.
The message they are screaming at us normals is:

"ACCEPT OUR DEVIANT LIFESTYLE DAMMIT!

ITS TOTALLY NATURAL!!!

AND YOU ARE A HOMOPHOBE IF YOU FIND IT REPULSIVE!"

Some Americans have become brainwashed with their constant barrage; and now think it is okay, sheik & cool to go against nature.

Well, lets examine this here. If Joe and John got married, chances are that they won't reproduce. Just as with Jane and Sue. No kids means there is one less person to go to church. One less person in church, one less voice for the church. That puts the church at peril in case of an attack by another group with different religious afflilations. That is a real critical thing when a religion is new. That is my theory on why religions are against homosexuality.

As to this "fake war" you are refering to, it is interesting how people think so locally in a global world. It is interesting to see how people feel that what happens "over there", where ever that may be, has no effect on "over here". People seem to say that if only we didn't need oil, we could care less what happens there. However, I tend to look at the world as a toilet bowl and the various places as turds in the bowl. When the bowl is flushed, we all go down the same tube. The only difference being that whoever is nearest to the tube goes first but in general, we all will go down the tube. As such, it might be in our best interests to make sure the toilet isn't flushed or at least flushed at the time we choose.

There are some disenchanted women who are men haters because of this, that or the other. That is a totally different category tho.

Wow! You let a gay person work on your car? Now you know that car won't run right anymore, right?

In my life, I have had gay martial arts instructors, gay mechanics, etc, etc. The funny thing is that they do the job the same way as straight people.

Because of this country's Judeo-Christian cultural history, homosexuality is a major no-no. Americans in general may be entertained by "gay" shows which may be set up as a bridge for broader acceptance, but when it comes to validating the lifestyle at the polls by endorsing bans against gay marriage, the majority speaks in a resounding disapproval. Not that there is anything wrong with that.

Do you think this only applies to Gays or does it also apply to other people that seem to dominate the entertainment and movie segment?
