The tragedy is his new band Joe Strummer and the Mescalaros was as good as The Clash IMO, they were just starting to hit the charts when Joe hit the ground.

Catchy as hell, isn't it? My friend turned me on to that CD last year. The song was featured in Slumdog Millionaire, too.

Yip, they did a good job without bastardizing the original rhythm. Damn good movie too.

Back to the Clash... in my high school The Clash was the band we all listened to. "Combat Rock" was the album of the year for us...

My old band would cover "Rudy Can't Fail" once in awhile and the crowd would go ape *****. I was a serious punk rocker from age 12 to about 23 and refused to accept the Clash for about 6 or 7 years because they weren't "punk" enough. I met a girl in college who showed me how good they were, and told me to get off my studded and spiked high horse. The Clash were amazing.

Didn't see this song mentioned anywhere here but it's probably my favorite Clash song ever.
