M'wife met a woman with legs shriveled by polio and is barely able to walk with leg braces and two canes. She rides a horse just fine.

Thats a very broad stroke (no pun) of the brush you're painting there.
A young stupid guy can wipe you out just as easily, and probability of this being the case is more likely i would reckon.
If you are having a go at a senior citizens eyesight, do you have to renew your driving licence in the US annually/every couple of years? Does your licence state any impairment, and are you subject to passing a medical in order to attain this?
By what parameters do you define 'handicapped' ?

Yeah it bugs me to see cases similar to what others have posted here too, but i find your attitude up your a$$

His post was a bit harsh... but I agree with it in principle.

Some people, due to old age and/or mental/physical handicaps, simply are not qualified to operate a vehicle, and should not be driving. That's not discrimination, it is just reality, and common sense.

The laws and rules concerning this issue are MUCH too lax in the US.

Drivers are NEVER re-tested in most states...

After a certain age... Say 50 or so... There should be a re-evaluation of one's driving abilities every 2 or 3 years.

my grocery store has 6 handicap spots.. just six. and sometimes a jerk or two will park in the spots with no plates.. and i usually stop them just as they get ou of the car and tell them to move.. them being big asswads think they can park their jag or escalame anywhere get pissy at me... so.. i tell them go ahead and shop.. so they think they won while i dial on my phone the towing company in charge of towing for our store pulls up and tows the vehicle to be impounded.

now they come out of the store carrying their groceries or pushing their cart full of atkins crap or look at me i care about the enviroment organic corn chips stunned .. where did my escalame go? they ask me.. i say.. well you see when you park in a handicap spot without a handicap tap it gets towed..

then they go to my store manager and complain and my manager just tells the jerk.. sir you parked in a handicap spot so you got towed many of our daily customers are handicapd and need those spots.. so try and have a nice day.. and dont park in the handicap spot

to date ive had 34 cars towed... dont park in my customers handicap spot. park on the sidewalk, park in front of the stop sign.. go ahead.. but once you park in the blue zone.. your ass is getting towed

I'm 44 and have a handicap sticker. Where shall we start...I'm 6'5"220 and built like a brick *****house BUT I have bad arrhythmia,aortic aneurism,mild seizure disorder and in the last 6 months osteo-arthritis reared it's ugly head in my knees.

When people see me getting out of my Mercedes or any of my antiques they usually say something sarcastic and negative,I'll reply"O.K. A**hole,chase me around the parking lot and watch me have a heart attack,you pr*ck,or C*nt{depending on gender}.

Most of the handicrappers I see with those tags are driving like they have a mental handicrap instead of pysical. BTW, It's quiet flattering that someone would revive a thread of mine from last January and begin a new debate. Just goes to show how timeless the Cap'ns' threads are!!!

How did you determine that? I have a friend that you will swear has nothing wrong with him. He walks and talks just like normal. He lost a lung and is on disability. So, are you so sure that there is nothing wrong with that guy?
