Cpu problems....

Hello people, my cpu has slowed down considerable over ht e last week or so.

Email with Thunderbird just stopped, so I had to go back to OE to be able to work, but that's moving slower than before as well.

I have not added any new programs other than PC cillin from trend micro to keep/delete spyware and viruses.

I am running windows XP and the CPU is fairly updated with a huge hard drive and 1gb of ram.

Any tips?

I hadn;t had any problems in awhile then bam!

Backup documents, music, etc.
Insert Windows Disc
Go to BIOS and alter boot order to boot from CD first.
Install Windows again, over the partition that it is currently installed on.
Wait 45 minutes for it to install.
Wait 90 minutes to install updates from internet if you have broadband.
Done and Done... install anti virus and anti malware/adware software. Keep it updated.

Do the spyware, and the Virus Scan but do them in SAFE MODE by hitting the F8 key while booting up then follow the prompts ,If you still have quirks I recommend doing a system Restore at this point. P/M me for more details if you like .

I cleaned up a lot of crap like files that ended in .dll that I could not even open up because I didn't have the right program.

My cpu seems back to normal, however, I cannot use thunderbird mail, which I like better than OE for some reason.

I have uninstalled and installed several times, yet it moves slower than a constipated bowel.

Oh well! At least the cpu is working better.
