Here's hoping for a "passing" before the weekend arrives!

And for that matter, a pain-free rest of the holiday season!

Hang in there bro!

Sorry to hear that, man. I went through that last summer. I hope to avoid any recurrence of it. Good luck. Hope it passes soon.

From your silence today unfortunatly I suspect the issue continues. Hopefully it will be over now sooner than later.

It has to be wearing on you by now. I and the rest of the members can only hope it is over very soon.

Thanks

Yes it continues.

Passed multiple batches of talc powder size sand + blood today.
It was just large enough to coat the stone sieve.
It gave me hope until an attack that dropped me on the floor three times in an hour.

Are the stones keeping you awake at this time of night?

I've had numerous UTI (Urinary tract infections) that were painful when they hit the kidneys. About 6 years ago, I had my first kidney stone, and it was coming from the right side, which was rare, usually the infection started in the left lower one. As the stone passed the spine on it's way down, it caused involuntary twitching in my arms/hands. When it finally hit the porcelain (I was travelling and staying at a friend's house waiting to hit the road again as a truckdriver), I was amazed at how small it was, but how JAGGED it was, so even the tiniest of stones, if jagged could stab their way down the ureters!!!! When I arrived in the hospital one time announcing that I'd rather be having a baby, they laughed and said it must be a kidney stone!!!!

As far as the constipation . . . eat oatmeal, drink lots of water, and that will move a freight train!!!! Learned that from my "natural-thinking" doctor.

Mine is caused by getting dehydrated and losing too much salt. I am one that had to learn to use the salt shaker!!!! But if consistent about it, everything is all right.

I passed a pair of 2mm stones today, was looking at them when a bad attack took me down for thirty minutes.

The twitching/spasms are ghastly to watch per family/friends who have witnessed, I was in to much pain to be aware of what was happening or care.

I am squeezing and drinking quarts of raw fresh lemon juice (no sugar).

Constipation is not an issue, I am eating to much fresh fruit for it to be possible.

By the time you work your way through this many members including myself will fear developing kidney stones. I have no ideal of what percentage of the north american population develops them.

You do tend to hear that someone you know has them from time to time.

What exactly does the large intake of lemon juice do?

Nearly 12 percent of men and 5 percent of women in the United States will feel a kidney stone during their life.

At the least, it forces me to consume mass volumes of water, almost two gallons per day at the moment.

Maybe it does work somewhat as you are expelling sand like particles that could be broken down stones I imagine.

Remember to save some stones or the major one for lab work later to identify whatever it is they like to identify. From my take of the issue all kidney stones are not of the same composition. Again in general it is something I preffer not to have first hand knowledge of.

I am not going to research it but is there a genetic component where they tend to run in families I wonder? Hope today was a little better day for you.

When my cousin developed them, he was told it runs in families and was wracking his brain trying to figure out who that was. I answered the question . . . our grandfather. Now there's two in my generation.

Since you're trying home remedies, have you considered apple cider vinegar? I've heard that the organic, unfiltered kind (Bragg's is one brand name) has helped people, but have no personal experience. Tart black cherry juice concentrate seems to be keeping my gout at bay. Gout is another uric acid crystal related malady.

DAMN!!!! Isn't this the time to go take the ultrasonic bath at the doc's? I realize that they become easier to pass with each episode, but this attack seems to last too long!!!

It is for sure, but I believe he mentioned not having medical insurance...

My father has used apple cider vinegar since 1971, several ounces per day.
He can drink it, I can't choke down enough to matter.

FYI: My first stone was 3.5 - 4 months before the kidney crisis forced emergency laser surgery and I had good insurance then.
