In some states, anything higher than 10 over the limit is bad. And, yes, if you had the kids with you, it could really get serious. (Child endangerment, you know.)

Slow it down while on probation (and later too) and you'll be all right.

Nah didn't have the kid with me. Oh well, I'm not one for getting tickets anyway. At this point it's not the money, it's the PITA!

My average is one ticket about every three years, and I'm on borrowed time right now so I should keep my yap shut. I always go to the hearings and they usually lower the fines if you were courteous to the cop. If you weren't, the cop will be sure to make a point of it and at that point you should have stayed home.

"Where The 'I' Divides" (I-90/I-94, near Tomah, WI.) the WI. State Patrol has a training-grounds for newbie troopers...you never want to be pulled over in western-Wisconsin by the "crew in blue" because the phrase "give me a break" DOES NOT EXIST IN THEIR VOCABULARY!

But, when I have been pulled over (except in one case), being courteous and RESPECTFUL has resulted in more "No ticket for you" scenarios than I should be, legally, allowed to have, in MY lifetime. (Will I ever learn to keep that right foot above the line???)

I've developed the attitude..."They are armed, "sugared up" and have a faster ride than me...they win before anything is said."

And the one time I got a ticket? No trailer lights. $125.00 and 3-points. I was able to get the local DA to reduce the fine to $25.00 but he pooched the points part of the bargain and I ended up losing the 3-points. I'm zero'd out now, but it was a "shot" on the insurance for FOUR YEARS. I changed agents and company after that.

Yeah I've driven that stretch way too many times. They hide in the divider between the trees and shoot radar.

Kuan, how did you manage that in a Passat Wagon?

We have been pulled over more than once in my buddies Jetta Wagon, and we have been let off on all occasions. The cops im my area simply cannot fathom the idea of a VW, let alone a VW wagon speeding.

And ted, be careful in that S600. Tickets are only a kickdown, or a downshift away!

Oh, and one of my clients from work finally got pulled over in his Ford GT. He was doing 154 mph when the cop caught up to him. He didnt get a ticket, but he did give the cop a ride in it. He attempting to go flatout when the fizz caught him.

I don't see how it's possible to get a ticket around here with the SD. I typically drive it at 65-68 at all times..........the limit is always 55.

There is always some a-hole doing 75 or more that is passing me in the left lane.......or the right lane (I typically drive the center and pass in the left), and, most of the time it's a $hitbox with radar reflection that must look like an aircraft carrier..........

The only time that I'm doing more speed than anyone else is in the rain. I still maintain 65 mph..........and most of them have given up on that speed.......especially at night.

I'm a novince driver. Currently I've only had my license for about a 6 months.

...But I cant help going 80 on I-94, Which is a 55/65 speed limit highway around here. Oddly enough, EVERY SINGLE CAR on that road is "speeding"

I pass by cops all the time. just let off the gas and cruse by...

Nope, coming off 8, getting on 35 going South. This would be Washington county. Bunch of them shooting laser. I happened to be the one the guy was eyeballing at that time. Picking on a poor old VW wagon.

His mistake was slowing down. I know someone who avoided a ticket in such a way with an M3. Crown vic's are only good to 130 or so, above that they can't touch you.

Well the trick is to get off the highway fast, and stick the car in the garage for the next 7 months!

The Gumball guys avoid tickets in a similer manner. Seems to land them in jail only once in awhile. I remember seeing a vid of an M5 in the rally doing 170ish and passing a bunch of cops. driver said "were only stopping if theres a road block", wasn't a road block.

Still this method is probably going to land you in jail and cost lots in lawyer fees. But your lawyer will love you!

Don't mail it in. Pay it in traffic court.

My last ticket was a 36 in a 25 construction zone. Total was $245 if I were to mail it in. I went to the court to pay it, and to my suprise, the DA gave me (and two other people with a similar ticket) a plea bargain. It was for "Defective vehicle", a $100 max fine, 1 point, and court costs.

In the end, all I paid was court costs. $69 in total after tax. (And no change in my insurance rate.)
