Iamwith you on this one. The DUI is bad, could've hurt a lot of people. I do a lot of driving on PCH and I would not want to be involved in an accident with a drunk yahoo.

The slurs are bad, stupid and sophomoric...but not any worse than what some people have posted here (on either side of the aisle). There are people here who think: (a) Jews run our government and (b) Jews start all the wars, are responsible for the deaths of innocent civilians, etc., etc., etc. So he is just parroting what many ignorant people already believe.

What makes it bad is the fact that he has tried so hard to convince everyone that he is not a Jew hater (BTW, I thought that The Passion, as gruesome as it was, was neverhtless not anti-Semitic).

OTOH, however, Polanski was, and remains, a sick son of a *****.

I, of course, heap greater or more scorn on the girl's mother who left her young daughter alone with a sick f**k like Polanski.

I have a middle eastern friend who rants about jews this jews that. He explained to me that when he talks about jews, he doesn't mean Jewish people but people who are tight fisted A^^ holes that drain people and manipulate etc.

Well, that is his 'splenation.... ya figure that his upbringing has some influence on his psyche, eh?

Likewise Mel's demons?? no apologies for Mel, he's a big boy who can do his own 'splaining.

I could care less about his racist statements. Yes, he has said it was the booze talking and so has the cop. Personally, I have never done something under the influence that I didn't want to do. I guess it was because he was drunk that he drove drunk. Not his fault either. As a judge said to me "If a broken speedometer is an excuse for speeding, nobody would have a working speedometer." Same principle here. So, using expressions like "...I jewed him down..." are OK?

And if I say "camel jockey this" or "camel jockey that" I may not be necessarily referring to Arabs, but just people with towels wrapped around their heads who go around blowing up buildings--that would be OK?

I suppose that if we go around looking for people who are (were) worse than Polanski and Gibson, we can do even better than Hitler.

Pol Pot comes to mind, for example.

Titanic wasn't bad, IMO. A bit long but it had some punch.

I'm way more outraged by ANYONE doing 87 in a 45 zone while drunk than their racist comments. His behavior just compounded the lunacy.

S'like the time MedMech admitted to doing 175 in a Ferrari on an off-ramp. This is something to boast about?!? I imagine if his family was taken out by some fool doing that, he'd see it a bit differently.
