Doctors have a strange sense of humor, don't they. I don't recall anybody ever telling ME they wished they had ANY kind of cancer. I'm glad to hear it's not the worse kind. Any kind of cancer certainly is sobering when your doctor is telling you that YOU have it.

The "best" is the least problematic i suppose, medicine is about hope to a certain degree and to lessen the diagnosis, while lining it with "hope" will give you "the best"....my humble 2 dramacs worth.

Glad it looks like you're ok, Bot. Even on Dad's first one, he got referred out to a Derm. surgeon. If you have other areas of concern, you may want to consider this--after Dad went to have the first one removed, the Derm. sent three more the GP had not worried about off that were malignant as well.

It's a hazard of my lifestyle, unappreciated when I was young. I'm just glad Mrs B still gets her jollies with soft caresses. She's very techically inclined and described it in scientific terms, "Whatsis****? You got a funky thingy on your back." That worked for me.

Sid, was it you that mentioned the "Mose" method earlier? Do you know him (I know he used to practice in MD). This is the technique my dad's doc (who was trained by dr. mose) uses. Prolific author on cancer apparently.

Oh I know I am going down--dad's on #15 (72, grew up on a farm and plays golf 3X/week w/no sunscreen). BUT, because of my occasional bouts with excyma, I regularly see a very good dermatologist and he checks every time.

Yep, I spelled it wrong though, it's Mosh. One of the surgeons I work with is one of the top for head and neck melanoma we do alot of work with the derm department here at G-town sewing up after Mosh surgery- you want a plastic surgeon closing after that so you get the best result.

Sorry to hear about the (relatively) bad news. Hope the excision works.
I had a canoeing friend who was a fanatic about covering his skin completely from the sun. Unfortunately, kidney cancer got him.

I'm for sticking with reason as much as you can, but if you want to go the faith route, tune in to a cable religion channel and I'm sure you can find a Benny Hinn crusade locally.
