I think I'm an average American. I lived in Iran, Pakistan and India and have visited Baghdad, Afghanistan and Beirut. I'm also pretty good with Geography and history.

It's a pertinant question to ask what your experience in Middle Eastern countries has been. Can you pick out Persepolis on a map?

A large chunk of those ME countries don't like us because of who we are and what we represent. If you are married and you have done what your wife has told you to do on occasion, that is one such act they find abhorrant. If you havn't praised Allah several times today, that's another.

The whole "multiculturism" argument is kind of silly on the face of things. Especially moreso when the other culture wants you dead.

again, if you have lived in all those places you are not typical.

i dont know what you are mentioning multicultural for. i said nothing about that.

i just said we have no idea what their culture is like (i think).

and no i dont know where percepolis is. i said i might have 3% of a clue about the middle east. compared to the average american who has none.

The multicultural argument assumes that all cultures are valuable and equal. Thus we shouldn't blow up another culture without wanting to blow ourselves up.

It's silly because when another culture wants you dead, you best do what you can to prevent that. Irregardless of the cost to the culture that started it.

i never said their culture is equal to ours.

my point is that we have no business there. we have no clue what they are all about. we cannot bring them democracy.

my favorite quote about the iraq war is:

"we'll bring democracy to iraq if we have to kill every last one of those iraqis".

of course i made it up. but it isnt too far from our present administrations notion of the whole affair.

imho.

Why do you make the assumption that no one in this country has any clue about that area of the world. Just in the small sampling of this thread you've got several people who have been there. Incidentally, they all seem to disagree with your assertions.

Quite simply put:

They are about living the life and teachings of the Qur'an and prophet MOHAMMAD . If you are not a worshipper of their and prophet, you are an infidel. We all have a pretty good idea what happens to infidels, .

We are the infidels. Got it !!

Your imho, is way off, the soldiers are doing much more feeding and clothing than fighting.

I don't think you will ever get it.

hmmm, this statement challenges the logic of statistics and reason.

How concisely incorrect in so many venues.
