Cell phone tele-marketers
I got an email purporting to give a number to register your cell phone so that telemarketers cannot call. Is this on the level, or is it a scam?
According to the email the telemarketers can call starting in 5 days, and you get to pay for their call. I have not heard of this before so I am a bit skeptical.

Wait 5 days, and see if you get a call. If you do, then you can see about "removing" yourself from the "list".

Scam. There is no such thing as a do-not-call list for cell phones.

Thanks,
I thought I had seen this before, now I am sure. I suppose I can trust the FTC and snoops. Thanks, again

As I recall, I put all of our numbers including cell phones on the national Do Not Call list back when that was first advertised. So far, the worst I've had to deal with are wrong numbers.

I believe that "Most" of the cell companies have declined to release the numbers, ie phone book type info.
So it is kind of useless.

You can put your cell number on the national do no call list no problem. I don't have mine on it yet, get an occasional call. The wired phone we have used to get alot of them and the no call list works great for that. I don't have caller ID at home but do on my cell of course, so I can just not answer the "ID Restricted" calls or numbers I don't recognize. They never leave a message, so hope it's not the "Publishers Clearinghouse" calling to tell me I won a million or something........
