And starting at first base for your New York Yankees - Gary Sheffield!

How's this for a line up card: Damon; Jeter; Abreu; Giambi; Rodriguez; Sheffield or Matsui; Cano; Posada; Cabrera or Matsui.

That is a brutal line up The pitcher's probably thrown 20 pitches before A-Rod comes up for his first at bat.

I love the Yankees.

OMG, that was sweet. Or maybe the Yanks can fall back on their 26 World Championships between 1923 and 2000.
Well I have to admit, those are some good points. And I watched the Yanks play the Sox last weekend, and even though they lost they look awfully good. They're probably better this year than they've been since they were last in the Series. The playoffs are still something of a crapshoot, though, and the other AL teams are pretty good, too. But the possibility of a subway series looms large, and I'm not talking about the Dodgers and Angels.

And oh yes, the Phillies are tied for the wild card spot as of last night!
Their starters are rockin' right now.

I am hopeful that the American League will begin playing baseball again one day. For the record, there are nine active men on a baseball team, not ten. I have personally boycotted the American League since the DH went into effect. As you can see, it's had quite an impact.

People will accuse me of being a "johnny come lately" when I say I am a Braves fan. My response to them is that I can remember the days when every time they went to NY or LA it was to get their ass kicked.

Went to the 1 PM Yankees Bosox game on Sunday and had one of New Yorks finest get us some great seats. Boston beat Yankees both games. They looked good. It was a fun day out for my sons and I.

A few years back when we had just moved to NY and my first son was just a baby we went to a Yankees Braves game. I wore my Braves cap. Braves lost and on our way out of the stadium some fans saw my cap and started chanting "Braves suck". Well pretty soon a couple of thousand of people are chanting this as my wife, my young son and myself try and make a speedy exit from Yankee stadium. I knew the fans were just poking fun but it was a bit intimidating.

I totally agree with you on the subject of the DH. I think NL baseball is a lot more exciting to watch because of all the changes that need to be made due to the pitchers in the lineup. Also, NL games don't take nine years to play. You've got to be really dedicated to watch some of these Red Sox-Yankees games.

Good to see you back, by the way.

Nobody's going to be able to keep up with the Yankees in the post season!!! Since they made it already they are taking it easy....you don't want to get injured right before the playoffs.

Yankees are playing Tigers come this Tuesday.

Yankees have beat the Tigers 5 times and lost 2 times in the regular season. The two that they lost were both in the 9th inning...Mussina and Riviera were not able to close due to injuries. Otherwise Yankees would have swept them in the season.

Let's go Yankees.
