Tanked up with 92 octane BP a while ago. $2.45 gal.

87 octane is at 2.25 and some of the independent brands are below 2.20.

Woo Hoo!!

Oh, BTW.....this is in KC metro area.

Can anyone explain this to me? Wasn't there a pipleline in Alaska that was off line and prices were supposed to go up?

My rocket scientist of a friend(not really, he drives a flatbed) said this morning that "they found a shotload of oil in the gulf" that's why prices have dropped. Lol!

Todays paper said it may go down to under 2.00 per gallon.

WTF?

Does it makes sense?

Actually, instead of paying .60 less, why were we paying more? What is and has happened to cause such a change in so little time?

Thanks:stupid:

Election day is just around the corner, ya think that might have anything to do with gas prices coming down?

I appreciate your rampant cynicism, 450, but dout that $.50 a gallon gas would help the Republicans at this point. I assume that was your implication.

Even if it would insure another Republican-dominated election, I can't imagine how they could pull that off. I mean they're not going to sacrifice the dividends on their oil stocks!

Drinks anyone?

I bet you a drink it will go up after the mid terms :) I used to always notice the price of fuel going down just before the oil companies would release those huge earnings.

I do not think this is to help one party or another, but maybe more to do with CEO's fearing an investigation if the Democrats win.

Down by a buck and still going

It's down by a buck here in Atlanta. Wow!

Don't get too elated. It can just as easily shoot back up again, beyond the record highs of this year. Maybe this is just a little teaser before the next supply disruption "disaster" happens. The only way to keep prices down is to keep conserving and retiring those SUVs.

Paid $1.91 on Friday, yesterday had to pony up $2.01 - what is this world coming to?

sunnoco in my area 2.61 for diesel
2.29 for 93 octane

2.79 for shell diesel

pisses me off

After the 70's oil scare OPEC dropped the price tremendously for long enough to crush all attempts at alternate fuel and conservation. Prepare yourself for an extended period of low oil costs as OPEC tries to restore confidence in oil supply and keep you from buying an efficient car. After all, there was some talk of curbing our dependence on foreign oil. Any good pusher would do the same.
