I've found it doesn't pay to take nice suits or shirts to a regular dry cleaner. Ask the people where you bought the suit to recommend a place. Most cleaners use way too much heat which will ruin good fabrics. There is a small chain here in Toronto that does really good work, but they're not cheap. It's $7 a shirt and $40 for a suit. Needless to say, I do all my own shirts, but $40 is not a lot to pay to keep a $2000 suit in good shape.

Here in DFW, take your nicer stuff to Bibbentucker's, they are a high-end dry cleaning chain that specializes in caring for very special clothing, like Armani & Zegna Suits, etc. I have used them a few times. They cost about 2 to 3 times as much as your run-of-the-mill cleaner, but they will get it done right and will compensate if they goof up.

There are no good ones in NJ that I know of. A bunch of gangsters. I gave up going to the yards years ago, prices were way outta line, bad attitudes abundant. Might as well shop the internet and ebay for decent deals.

I don't think all the suits I have ever owned would add up to $2000.

I dropped the suit off on my way out of town and used the nice approach. I didn't get any results other than the owner passed my cell number to the "wholesale' cleaners that does their work. That kinda pissed me off on top of the fact I am now going to be without the suit I needed for this event.
The line of BS that this idiot gave me,
"There was a 'lolly pop' sewn into the waste band of the slacks that melted during the cleaning process. We have reprocessed them and stretched the suit back to its original size as well..."

So, apparantly someone has broken into my house, removed the stitching in the waste band of these slacks (that I keep deep in the closet) and sewn a "secret lolly pop" into the wasteband. Now I'm getting a bit paranoid. The secret stash was not there last time I had them cleaned and I have worn them since.
Maybe its a conspiracy.

I'll go pick the suit up tomorrow and drop it off at the Goodwill.

I figure I will be contacting the BBB and looking for another cleaners.
Oh well...
