it was important enough to you that you made the first comment an accusation against someone you don't know instead of about the issue.

"i am guessing you might be a smoker" doesnt seem like much of an accusation to me.

and i am failing to see my hypocrasy.

if i thought every one else should not smoke in public buildings but i thought it was ok for me to do so then i would be a hypocrit.

maybe you could educate me on the subject of hypocracy.

Allow me to explain my previous thought. I do not believe the goverment should step in and ban or limit personal freedoms especially when something like smoking is still legal in the US. Whether one finds it personally offensive or not is not the question what is the question seems to be is it fair for one's rights to be infringed upon for the sake of other's. Is smoking good for you?....NO, but neither is drinking booze, eating mercury tainted fish and seafood, mid day smog in California is probably not good for you either. It seems that because some lack thoughtfullness and consideration it has given some individuals a platform to BAN what is not socially acceptable; legal or not.

As a smoker I believe it is rude to light a cigarette in a crowded restaurant while others try to enjoy thier meal. But if I am outside, away from others why is it wrong to indulge in a vice such as a smoke, especially when it's LEGAL. I believe it's unfair and thoughtless for one who doesn't smoke to push their initiative everywhere they go. Example, if the establishment is a smoking establishment that caters to smokers then why should a non smoker walk in and expect the club, bar, restaurant or whatever to change their policy? That is rude, selfish and short sighted in MHO.

Obviously I believe some things in life should be left for personal interpretation... however it seems due to the basic lack of common sense and courtesy by people we have created a society of agenda pushing followers that have not protected anyone's rights in particular but have enabled personal freedoms to be taken away. If you fly to Europe I believe you shouldn't have to be in a smoke filled plane for up to 8+ hrs ..that is common sense to me... but if you expect the corner cafe store in Austria, Germany or anywhere in Europe to start telling their patrons to stop smoking for your benefit, you're disillusioned.

Better enjoy your Maker's Mark before the do-gooder's try to take that away also.. just MHO

i find your statement very reasonable.

as long as i am able to avoid smoking people in places i have no choice about i am content with that. and the great outdoors is free game.

A Hypocracy is a government run by hypotenuses. They make great politicians since they always have an angle.

Here you go. Take the correct spelling and now you should be able to look it up and figure out the reference in the context of your comment.

oh my you are so superior that you dont have to explain why you say anything.

i know perfectly well what it is. it is one thing i strive very hard not to be. we all have our contradicting opinions, though.
