Cell phone numbers to open to telemarketers in 11 days

NEW ORLEANS — The Federal Trade Commission has authorized the release of all cell phone numbers to telemarketing companies Nov. 17.
Some mobile numbers will be charged for these calls depending on the plan.
The Federal Trade Commission has established a No Call list to register your cell phone number. Registering blocks telemarketing calls for five years.
You can register either on your cell phone or on the Internet.
The telephone number is (888) 382-1222. You must call from the cell phone number you want blocked. You cannot call from a different number.
