The term is "phising". Usually titled with some startling message designed to get you curious enough to do some research on the "subject".
The perps are getting better at it, but most amateurs can't disguise the url hiding behind the authentic-looking logos and stuff. Mouse over to the links and such, but DON"T CLICK! Others will lead you to a legitimate-looking site and ask for username and password. Remember that NO legitimate site will EVER ask for that information...either via e-mail or by phone! I get ebay and paypal "phish" e-mails almost weekly.
