New minister in the family

My son just announced that he is a minister with the Universal Life Church. What does this mean, besides getting ripped off for $140, which is the cost of the 'Ministry in a Box'? He is a college student 3000 miles from home. I think he has too much spending money.

My B-in-law is some kind of saint or something in that outfit. Some fellow scientists pooled their money and gave it as a gift.

my son was married by one of his friends who had one of those. the guy is kindof a drunken fool but worked at it and did a very nice job. nobody told my mom about his credentials but in a few minutes of talking with him i am pretty sure she had it figured out.

That's OK, as long as its not a front for satan worship or a drug cult, or something worse. I think he likes to fly just below the radar so its often hard to tell what he's up to.

Universal Life Church is definitely NOT Christian in its doctrine, polity, or practice.

Maybe he got it confused with the New Life Church and was planning on applying for that job opening in Colorado Springs.

My wife and I had a friend marry us this past July. He got "ordained" through the same "church." A couple of clicks is all it takes.

I thought it was free, though. I think if it really cost that much, I owe him another gift!

He has to much time and money on his hands!

So is it a cult or a real church? Seems like starting a church is a good way to make money.

Well, whatever. But guys his age and older generally worship one thing

Perhaps he'll work it into a pickup line so he can "lay hands"on some girl to "heal"her

Yup, the most longest running successful business in human history, follows by prostitution.
