Asian Chinese have a very different system of finance than Black, Hispanic, or White folk. They also have a strong communal network of support and a strange hierarchal system of unwritten rules. Bonds, once formed, are difficult to break. They have an ability to be frugal and they never forget why they're where they are today.

Gawd that sounds like a fortune cookie.
Ain't that the truth

I'll take the nation's wealth too. Black people, white people, asian, etc, etc. I am not picky.

I'm at 20% because I want to live well in retirement without counting on SSI. I'm still investing in a pretty aggressive posture (<30% in gov bonds) for the few short years I have left until I have met my retirement objectives. I just hope the economy continues to expand just a few more years before I shift over to the opposite profile & retire. If it goes south before then, I guess I'll have to work until later than I had wanted.

Children, it comes from having had a hell of a good time as a grasshopper until my late '30's when I realized I had nothing more than a paycheck and a mortgage and 3 kids. I wish I'd been as wise in my 20's as Hatt appears to be.

Oh well, I can't say it wasn't fun!

Just had a student write a paper on Confucius and Communism. She was attempting to counter the argument that Confucius was a sage of the reactionary classes. The student was arguing that the social order of Confucianism was compatible with Communism.
i think it would be interesting to do a comparison of the role of Protestantism in the rise of capitalism in Europe and the role of Confucianism in the current move to capitalism in China.
