yeah but first I let her go, as in I was still sleepy and didn't want to deal with it, since the car is so old and I was going to put it away until I get another engine for it anyway. so now if i tell her I want at least the damage paid for I look like a dick. not that I really care about that, since she means nothing to me. but still. and what if she just says **** you, I ain't gonna pay you nothing? there was no police obviously, although my gf heard the bang and saw us conversing...

traffic jams, queu's at the bank, waiting at the dentist... it's the best time in the world man! there's nothing else to do but wait and live. imagine the freedom of not having to do anything for a while! really you got to think about it, it's the best time you have! I'm actually thinking to move to LA for that reason.
and indeed, you can pet your car's inside some without risking a collision!

I agree, to an extent. However, I get up at 5am so that I DON'T have to deal with bad traffic on my 23 mile commute. After the first time you see a car facing the wrong way in the left lane, it stops being amusing. Also, I was trying to get home to my wife and kids. It just pisses me off that somebody can cause a wrech, make a whole lot of people late (and use a lot more gas), and they MIGHT get a ticket for it - but nothing compared to what it cost everybody else.

Anyway, if traffic is moving fast enough that I can idle along in first, I don't really get annoyed. It is when it is stop and go that I get tired of it.

And I mis-spelled everybody.

I think somone needs to have a little visit with Dr. Freud. This might be more then a car issue.

Yea - I’ve been there. And can admit that it does get old and irritating some times.
Plenty of times, I’ve flown over bumper-to-bumper traffic and felt like: “gee, that’s gotta suck...”

You’re still better off than that guy facing the wrong way!!

now, henry, i have a few comments:
1. she bashed your car. she should pay for the repair. this doesnt make her a bad person but i will agree it sucks if she faked the tears. for a girl though, the tears come a bit easier. the fact that you told her to forget about it complicates it a bit but i think she still should pay for it. how to go about getting from here to there i dont know.
2. you are also mad at yourself for telling her to forget about it. but you didnt have to say that, so dont hold that against her.
3. for sure dont put anything in her tank. that is clearly wrong and you would be doing it on purpose. at least what she did was an accident. (except possibly the tears)

here is my suggestion.
1. first tell her in person or in a note that you have thought about it and you need for her to be responsible and pay for the repair. tell her right away. and tell her you will get an estimate asap and get back with her.
2. get the estimate. present it to her. if you want to feel generous you might decide to give her a break by accepting used parts for the repair rather than new or something similar.
3. if she says she is not going to take the responsibility, dont yell at her or threaten her (again you will be wrong and could end up in jail) but tell her you will take her to small claims court. this is a pretty simple process and here it costs maybe $40 to file.

but dont stew about it anymore. either meet it head on as noted above or let it go completely and know that you are a better person than her.

I agree with the last post. There are alot of issues at work here, but the main one should be, you shouldn't have to spend your hard earned money to fix the car.

I would confront her and say, that you weren't thinking right and that she needs to face her end of the responsibility here. She can either pay outright for the repairs. Pay for the parts and you do the work. Or you go to your insurance company. I wouldn't go the small claims court route, this is what you pay insurance for, if she is refusing to face up to her responsiblities then let them stick it to here. That way she gets angry with the insurance companies and not you.

I feel your pain, I was involved in two traffic accidents within a month. Neither were my fault and one sent a very good friend of mine to the hospital. Even though the other drivers were at fault I still feel like I could have done something to avoid the accident. Survivors guilt or something like that is the technical name.

But, no mattter what just step up for yourself, don't let a weepy woman take advantage of you.

That is easy to say when you are traveling to or from your helicoptor or jet or have the chance of seeing naked beautys wash a jet.

Yes, it is easy to say.
I also find it easy to practice what I’m saying every time I’m stuck in traffic. We may be “lucky” to have the alternate modes of transportation we do, but we still have to sit in traffic like everyone else. The DFW area sucks in the bumper-to-bumper traffic category. At least 3 days a week, one (or both) of us is driving into some area of the Dallas/ Ft. Worth Metroplex for something or someone. Seems it always ends up being rush hour one way or the other too.

Yes. Like most everyone here. I’ve been fortunate to have some of the opportunities in my life that led me to where I am. For the most part though, “Luck” had/has little to do with it. Most people that know us, also know we busted our asses, with quite a few sacrifices along the way, to get here.

Topless jet washing is just one of the rewards. Not luck.
