Crashed

truck's got a new dent in it......

It's about 27 degrees right now, it's been drizzeling since around noon (didnt close school) It's kinda slick out, and I did what any guy would do... Go mess around in my truck...

It was a hell of a day at school, and at work. So, to blow off some steam, I was doing some expesition driving on my faveriout back road. I was "drifting" around a leaf pile on some county property, it was pretty damn fun. It's about 8 feet tall, and mabey a 15 foot diamiter pile... pretty cool IMHO to spin circles around... Good stuff...

So, After doing that for a while, I decided to continue on my way. I was sliding around (on purpouse) on a newly paved road. It had some drizzle remains on it, so I could break traction pretty easy... little easyer then I expected.

I was hanging the ass end out pretty good (cut hard left/right, and floor it)... Kicks out pretty nicely, and usually predictably.

I went all the way down the road, and turned around. I came back, still messing around. On the last curve before the popluated area, I lost it.

I was going faster then before, cause I thought I "had" it... The ass came around a little too far, I locked up the brakes, and did almost a 210 degree spin, into some trees... I thought I was gonna flip. The truck leaned HARD, and then I think the passengers side tires breifly left the ground when I went into the ditch. When my ride was abruptly stopped by a 4" diamiter tree (and some shrubs), I smoked my head on the a-piller... I've got a good headach right now, kinda hurts to tilt my head down... I'm afrade to tell my mom, because I know she'll take away my keys if I tell her the truth (and I'm a ****ty lier)

Broke the mirror mount, dented the door, and the inner fender on the drivers side came out... There's also some leaves imbedded in my drivers side tire (betwean the bead and the rim)

my head hurts, I'm going to bed
thought I should share... dont be dumb like me...
good night
~Nate

lesson learned.

glad you werent hurt.

a pickup is the worst thing to play these games with because of the nose heavy rear drive characteristics of its handling.

at least you were (apparently) in a place with no traffic so nobody got hurt other than you.

i did something very similar when i was 17 or so.

I went sideways down a ice-covered hill once in my new 4WD Ranger, almost taking out a family that was getting in their car. I was very lucky.

Once everything breaks loose like that, you have no control. Scary stuff.

you're just pissed cause your car doesn't have any power:fork_off:

I didn't hit anyone, I was on a deserted stretch of back road.

At least I fixed the brakes.... Woulda been even funner with only front brakes working.

my mom's taking me to urgent care, because I've got some classic signs of a small concussion... Headache, irritable, slightly dizzy, and after it happened, i was kinda wobbly...

yep, yep...

I wasn't pleading my innocence, just sharing, cause this is the first time I've ever hit anything unintentionally (bumper cars in the school parking lot )

I'm using Firefox spell check anyways, so cut me some slack... You're seeing the edited version

"funner" ?

Come on! I have learned to look the other way with many mis-spelled words, but come on, ...."funner"!?

You can spell gooder than that, cain't you?

btw...I did a smooth move similar to that. Decided to make a left hand turn at the last second....didn't take the wet patches, and the icy patches into consideration. Ended up making a 180, except that instead of facing the traffic that was in the same lane I was just in, I ended up blocking the overpass I was trying to make a left into. (never did that again!)

A few years ago I was driving my lab's V-10 Econoline and it had just rained near the Harbor and I am traditionally used to flooring the diesel but I forgot that I was driving a "Detroit pedal" truck. I made a right hand turn from a stop with a little too much into the throttle whereby the rear just flew out behind me and I started my opposite lock to control the slide and drifted the van into the curb of the Oil Lube place on the corner as there just wasn't any traction!

It was somewhat undramatic but the fear of being ridiculed for crashing the brand new van would have been overwhelming.

When we glided into the curb, the lady watching all this picking up her Volvo looked like she crapped her pants.

Yeah, but it's sleeping...

That car's kissed 90... once... took about 3 days, but, it did it. Rode hella nice at speed also.

It's not really a daily driver, and there's no way in hell I'd even CONSIDER abusing it like that...

I hope you've ditched your plans for doing a 3" drop on your car... right? Plz?
