Well, it's official. Something is wrong!

You can no longer get a Chevy Work Truck (Silverado 1500) with a manual transmission.

2007. Standard trans? Automatic.

No one buys sticks, no profit in them anymore.

On a side note Chevy makes sweet trucks! My buddy has had his 05 2500 HD for almost two years now and it still looks, smells, and feels like new.

Its fast but I keep telling him he should put a super charger on it!

I bought a 2006 1500 W/T Brand new in October... 5 Spd 4x4 and the 4.3 (which is a 350 with two cyls. cut off)... Sticker was $21,900. I paid $12,900 after all the Gm Card rebates and all the crap. Money lost on their end for certain.

The fact that a man can't buy a pickup truck with 4x4 and a manual transmission really makes me wonder if the "Metro-Sexual" effect isn't really to blame.

Silverado Classic can still be ordered with a Manual.


Ford did this too in 2004, New Body style only available with V8s and no manual transmission. In 2005, the 4.2L V6 carried over.

Its unfortunate. You can still get a F150 with a 5 speed, but only in V6, and XL or STX only.

F250 and up can still be had with a manual trans.

AH! Thank goodness... 2500 still can be.

His 2500 is loaded with everything but leather, manual's are a pita to shift in traffic and while talking on the phone.

It is amazing how cheaply you can buy base GM trucks these days! Truely great bargins.


But as said above they all can still be had with a stick.

Yup. If you just need a cheap basic truck they can still be had.

Our company just bought 2 New 2007 Ford F150 XL single cab long bed with 5 Speed, V6, A/C and AM/FM, Vinyl Seats and Floors for $11,950 each.

I had a 93 1500 WT with the 4.3 V6 and five speed. I never minded shifting, and I averaged 20MPG.

I would love to find a 240 manual parts car to change mine over to a four speed. I am not a fan of automatic trannies, but at least MB makes a good one. Or at least they did in 1985.
