6-time winner, incl. 2006, Chagin is out..!! His Kamaz truck toppled over and that was it. Kamaz' Kabirov is still competing but not doing very well either. Looks like a new winner for this 2007 edition.

Rallye turned out to be less dramatic than previous year, route was less difficult and less hard aswell, according to many. Volkswagen had the fastest race cars and won 10 out the 14 stages, ...but did not make the podium: folks in Wolfsburg must be furious. Top two postions were for Mitsubishi once again, but VW is very close. Looks like Mitsubishi's reign will be over, if VW decides to come back. American biker Blais made it to 3rd overall. Dutchman Stacey won the truck competition. Sure hope the organizers put some more spice in next years edition: bit dull this time. Camera work was awesome again: Mali and Mauretania are REALLY beautiful countries.

I believe he ended 4th or 5th, driving a Monster Hummer. I understand Gordon's a champ in your Nascar competition, right? Not bad for a first time, like biker Blais (2nd Dakar). If they decide to come back, they might even win sometime I think. Everybody would like to see some more competition for the Mitsu's, but for any non-French driver winning Dakar will be extra hard.
