I love that one. I think Christian and Hypocrite means the same thing in some cases. I can remember going to Marietta Georgia as a kid and the Baptist Preacher talking about all the "card playing, dancing, wine drinking Catholics". I used to drink Bourbon with his son. I always say "where you find four Baptists you will find a Fifth".

Me, I got a nose like Dustin Hoffman. Been teased about it since I can remember. Helped me to learn how to take it. I am also pretty good at handing it out too. Coming from Florida to New York it was a real change to have someone get in your face and tell you exactly what they think. It is very refreshing compared to the sweet to your face/stab you in the back that is the way of many people in the South.

Yeah, well I got you beat,Sport. My hooknose is even bigger than yoursBut remember,a large nose is a sign of strong character,Napoleon himself chose his Marshals partly based upon their prominent proboscii.

Agreed re:your take on hypocrisy, learned about it fairly early in life.

There was an Episcopal preacher who affected a quiet, neatly groomed facade with precise, flawless Locust Valley lockjaw,as some call our way of speaking, interspersed liberally with much criticism of the permissiveness of the times and how parents should be more severe in disciplining their children, the evils of drink, etc.

To cut it short, though it would make a great novel, turns out one incredulous fellow heard the preacher drunk, boasting about screwing a well-off married gal AND her daughter and soaking the married broad for "donations"so he could buy a sailboat for himself.
The gal herself ratted him out when he started sniffing out other gash and called off their trysts.

Our local priest was recently relieved of duty for "credible allegations of sexual misconduct". It was even reported in Newsday.

Jim Backus's accent was a theatrical mixture of Boston Brahmin and Tuxedo park wasp.

I read about that in Newsday.

Did you also know that local North Fork lore holds that Walt Whitman was run out of Southold for sodomizing a young male student when Whitman was a teacher there?

You obviously missed certain parts of the Bible like:

An eye for an eye.

Or the thumping David administered to Goliath.

Or the buttkicking that Samson delivered.

Or the smackdown that Jesus rained upon the money traders.

That is the beauty of the Bible, it contains fodder for just about any kind of argument.

I am "old school." I don't pick on the weak, the defenseless or the unarmed. but I hate think skinned wimps who go crying to their mommy (or whoever) everytime their feelings get hurt.

The world is a rough place. If you can't dish it out, and take it, then get out of the way.

That's the great thing about managing section 8 housing, you deal with human nature at it's most brutal, elemental level.

The Bible, like Nostradamus's predictions have something for every occasion, incest, murder, rape, thef, homosexuality, you name it.

And this Jehova fellow behaves like any badly brought up child,he gets a hissy fit and whole civilisations are wiped out at a single stroke.

And arrogant and selfish as well,"you shall have no other God but me",the nerve.

If you got the cojones to pull it off, then it is not arrogance.

Hey, when it is MY turn to be God of the Universe, you all be kneeling in front of me. And I will not tolerate any other gods...so there.

Mistress, of course, is a completely different matter. I have a special place reserved just for her.

You know me. I am Cuban. Give me a couple of mojitos and I forgive all.

BTW, did you guys know that Sammy Davis Jr. was half Cuban? And so was Lola Falana. I think it is hysterical....

And yes, it does feel good to be back. Thanks for all of your private messages. Although, I must admit to feeling a twinge of jealousy. I don't see anything in your signature referring to the BENZ-LGB-7 or anything to that effect.

You know how jealous and possessive Cubans can be....

Who is thees man, who has returned from the dead? I will watch him carefully, so that I may discern his purpose...

I understand the eye for an eye thingy was actually an attempt at equity, IOW, no cutting off of someone's hand because they stole a loaf of bread.

I think the hand-cutting was to be a deterrent to others and not just as a punishment for the perp.
